Its a busy summer in the studio! A lot of changes are taking place,new inspiration, new retailers on board and new exciting products coming! A lot has taken place over the last few weeks- some new designs,new techniques ,a little experimentation and a lot of forging! All will be revealed very soon- but expect some gorgeous new work for the Autumn!!
A recent family holiday has brought a new burst of inspiration! In my work-i am always drawn to piers,harbours,ropes,boat chains and netting.My phone is full of endless chain photos. We enjoyed a blissful few days in Westport and we’re lucky to find a great spot along the Quay. Just perfect for me! Every morning at the crack of dawn I went out and walked along the Quay, with not a soul about -it was bliss! From the ropes knotted together on the walls to the rusted chains left dangling off the side of the pier- inspiration was everywhere. The images have sourced a new direction in my work.Theres exciting new things in the pipeline.I am designing new products,new collections and experimenting with different techniques-stepping out…

Inspired by the curve that forms in the barrel of a breaking wave. This teardrop shape is a regular feature throughout my work-here the collection has taken the form and pared it down,therefore creating new beautiful compositions. A rather stunning large neckpiece now completed as part of a project i have working on recently. A labour of love! Sterling silver forged links interconnected creating a beautiful chain textile piece that swoops across the collarbone.(150 handmade links) Inspired by the gorgeous composition of fishing nets strewn over a pier wall. Entire neckpiece handmade in the west of Ireland.
Its been a very exciting time since Showcase 2018-working away on orders for new and existing shops. Alongside this, i have been very busy working on a very exciting new project- one that has let my imagination run a little wild! I have been creating some rather large and dramatic pieces in the studio recently and i can’t wait to share the exciting news soon! Its definitely been a productive few months-from special projects to shop orders to private commissions.
